Individual aims of Kempten University

Through its participation in the IRENE research project, Kempten University aims to investigate the following areas in more detail:

• Simulation of grid behavior (load flow, short-circuit, disturbances) and analysis of weak points given increased use of renewables and e-mobility.
• Specification of metering points in the low-voltage network to determine the state of the grid.
• Continuous measurements in the distribution network and verification of the simulation results.
• Planning criteria to take account of the increased use of renewables and e-mobility.
• Integration of stationary storage batteries to balance out generation and consumption and research into the optimum use of these reservoirs, grid disturbances and ageing behavior.
